Remembering Mary

Last month I made a memory book for my friend's mother who passed away in December.

I used SU! linen post bound 6x6 album. The cover is stenciled with the Kind Thoughts Brocade small stencil in Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black classic inks. The ribbon is 1 1/4" wide grosgrain Cherry Cobbler.

I used the Top Note die to cut pages that people could write a special memory about Mary. The inside cover has extra blank pages for anyone who wants to add a memory but could not attend the funeral.

I used the neutral textured pack of paper to mount the memories on. I used smooch spritz to stencil the Kind Thoughts Brocade onto each page as a background.

The inside back cover of the linen album contains those memories that were added after I finished the book.

The memory book is stored in this wooden box which was donated by another friend.

The left inside of the wooden box has the information about Mary that was handed out at the funeral.

Oh Baby!

Hey guys!
Today's post is project I made back in September.  I'm posting a lot of old projects because I'm working on new stuff, but want to make sure I add content to my blog every day or two.  I hope you don't mind.  Anyway, I decorated a gift bag and made a handmade card for my friend's baby shower.

I used the now retired Parisian Damask stencil to decorate a large gift bag.  Stencils are a very easy way to produce something with the "WOW" effect.
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Garden Green, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: large white gift bag
Here's the card:

I CASE'd a card by Monica Weaver who uses metal a lot. It's a beautiful effect, but I didn't have any metal. So the card uses the faux metal technique.

Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Basic Pearls, Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, Background Texturz Plates, Big Shot, clear embossing powder, heat tool.

The faux metal technique is very cool.  Eventually, I would like to show you how to do it on a video.  Just got to figure out how to make a video...lol!  Talk to you tomorrow.
